I'M RUNNING THE
NEW YORK MARATHON
My name is Caroline Shamash, and I’m a carer for my mother, who is living with Alzheimer’s.
I know firsthand how devastating this disease can be — not just for those diagnosed, but for the families and friends who walk alongside them every day. It’s exhausting, heartbreaking, and isolating — but it’s also filled with moments of love, memory, and resilience.
That’s why I’m running 26.2 miles in the New York City Marathon on November 2nd, 2025, to raise funds for CaringKind, an organisation that has been a lifeline for families like mine. They provide essential support, guidance, and care for those impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia in New York.
This cause is deeply personal. I’m running for my mum, and for everyone facing the cruel reality of this disease.
Please support my run. Help us care better.
THANK YOU for helping make a difference.
Together, we run for hope.
